The Allure of Polarity

For this moment, there is no enemy. No perpetrator. No villain.

Allow yourself this moment to breathe, to feel what that world could be like.

If there are no battles to fight and win, no right and no wrong, no “awakened” ones awake and no “still asleep” ones to shake, what is left to stimulate you and keep you engaged in this world?

If the battlegrounds suddenly turned to playgrounds, would you remember how to play?

We have so much ache to bake in, so much advocacy to partake in for the new world we’re here to help birth.

But the less alluring, less glamorous, less attention-getting aspect of this death and rebirth process is the one deeply seated, and seeded, within.

It’s not possible for this world to be free of the experience and learning that polarity offers us. Yet.

There are times when we’re called to advocate, to ask for change, to have our necessary reactions. The invitation, perhaps, is not to deny those reactions, but to take them inward.

To feel the parts of us who have deep reasons all their own to defend or offend.

The parts drawn toward groups and voices “out there” who somehow energize the same pain, anguish, and angst within us.

Sometimes what we’re feeling is even a soul activation. Karma waiting for love. Lifetimes of cataclysm, collapse, war, difficulty.

It’s all your shadow and the shadow of humanity waiting to be reconciled, fighting to simply be seen, heard, and validated.

What happens when all of this is felt in the heart, and questioned with compassion? When shadow becomes an exploration instead of something to take for granted?

It shifts.

And sometimes, it appears that things on the outside do too.

This is some of the deepest magic I know: the power of inner-to-outer harmony.

To me, it isn’t about becoming passive. It’s about learning to feel the world in softer textures, with greater meaning and depth, beginning with the world within.

I still have my own passionate no’s and no-more’s that need to move through me. Some things truly need to be expressed.

But where I take those reactions afterwards is not into waging war.

It’s into decisions. Sometimes truly life-and-relationship shifting ones.

Into boundaries, as needed.

Into resonant dialogue with others who are willing to feel where their own reactions are truly coming from and help guide me towards the heartbeat of my own.

The work isn’ct necessarily to escape polarity, or even become somehow polarized against it.

Maybe, just maybe, it is to become so intimate with what it awakens in us that we no longer need to live there. ***
