Becoming Venus: Radiance Beyond Role - Free To Be She Chapter Ten Excerpt

Many sacred feminine lineages (such as the Magdalenes) have carried through time a deep impulse toward initiation. We see it in the stories of pilgrimages to temples, pyramids, and sacred sites; in ordeals survived and thresholds crossed only by trial. This impulse honors the fire of devotion, the willingness to be transformed, and amazing courage within the feminine to be undone and rise from the ashes.

Yet within it has also lived a compulsion and old program fuelled by the saint/sagehood wounds and the False God: I must prove myself worthy of the Divine. I must be initiated by fire, by suffering, by ordeal before I can be truly crowned.

The Priestess line has often carried this same compulsion. In service, in community, in relationship, the Priestess feels the urge to make something happen: to conjure, to catalyze, to rush intimacy, to draw others in rituals and ceremony before true embodiment has ripened. Her womb becomes an engine of propulsion, burning with desire to create, to heal, to serve.

There is beauty in this, but also a cost, sometimes a big one to her femininity. It is exhausting, outward, and often out of sync with what intimacy and love can truly sustain.

Now, in this timeline of Ascension, another frequency is arising.

She is Venus.

Venus is not a role, not a throne, not a program, not an archetype that must be performed. She IS feminine essence, radiance, magnetism in its purest form.

Naked in her transparency, sovereign in her softness, she asks for nothing because she already is complete in herself. She attracts rather than chases or efforts. She embodies rather than needing to prove her worth. She isn’t striving to be initiated; she lets every breath, every silence, every ache be her initiation.

In this way, Venus softens the Queen within us. She melts the edges of sovereignty defined by role or hierarchy and reveals sovereignty as simply being…being clear, being vulnerable, being radiant, being true, being transparent.

She also gathers within her ALL the feminine essences that came before: the Maiden’s innocence, the Mother’s devotion, the Queen’s authority, the Crone’s wisdom, the Dark Feminine’s truth-telling flame.

She is the union of them all, the flowering of their journeys through shadow and surrender.

She doesn’t deny the descent rather she embodies it. Every heartbreak, every loss, every surrender becomes the fertile soil of her radiance.

Menopause carries this Venusian shift as well. The propulsion of the womb changes. The teenage engines of hormonal striving and performance quiet down. The programmed, monthly impulse to become a Mother ceases. What remains is the hearth-fire of radiance, not as outward chase but an inner flame.

Living on light and purifying the body temple carries this same invitation. Not in an effort to transcend or an ordeal to prove worthiness, but as a gentle consequence of intimacy with the Divine.

Venus offers: It is not about what you renounce, but about what you receive. Breathe me in, and I will nourish you.

Even love and mateship reveal this difference. The Queen often feels drawn to mateship as a ground for her sovereignty as her crown shines most brightly in sacred union. Yet Venus reminds us that she is radiant whether in union or not. Union may deepen her embodiment, yes, but it is not required for her essence to be complete. She is already whole.

Venus rising within us is not the denial of the Magdalene initiatory path, but its evolution. The fire of devotion remains, but it no longer burns as a chase; instead it glows as a hearth.

Every moment is sacred. Every intimacy is a temple. Every breath is initiation.

Venus rises now to remind us:You need not travel to pyramids to be crowned. You need not orchestrate ceremonies to be enough. You need not strive to be initiated.

You are initiated, now, by life itself…by your ache, by your joy, by your tears, by your silence,by your very being.

This is the arising of Venus.....not as a distant star,

but as the radiance already alive in your body,

the crown already on your head,

the hearth already burning in your heart.

Love,

Jelelle Awen This is an excerpt from Chapter Ten of Free To Be She: Becoming Venus. I have been sharing a passage from each chapter of this book, my sixth book about awakening, spirituality, parts work, sacred union, and quantum soul reconciliation. Its release is on January 1, 2026…when it will be available to purchase in E-book, PDF, and print editions (and eventually an audiobook version in my voice).

This book is more like a transmission than conceptual or intellectual, more like a love letter from and with Divine Mother to all women and the men who love them. Long in the gestation, inspiration, and now..finally…the birthing and offering phases. I will also offer weekly meditation videos inspired by each chapter starting in January. You can take in all the chapter excerpts and videos plus links to purchase the book here.
