The Spiral Process of Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a frequency we’re invited to embody, not something to transcend in order to align with.

And as such, what a profound journey it is to inhabit. It’s truly ongoing, and we’re always invited into the next layers of it.

…I almost wrote “what a profound journey it is to get there,” as if it were a destination or ultimate pinnacle to reach.

But that’s not what feels true to me.

I feel like it’s a spiral sort of experience and essential to our personal healing, regardless of how or even if it can transact in our relationships in this, or any, lifetime.

The tricky, sticky ground here is that grievances can create a web which parts of us can understandably become stuck in. A protective part of you may especially feel as if it could never allow space around the pain that happened, just in case it happens again. It has plenty of reasons to feel cautious.

When I take a moment to feel my own parts and soul aspects in this process of forgiving and where it’s taken me, and them, this is what I feel.

Knots. Many of them. Karmic ones, if we go to the soul level, yet also simple points of feeling stuck in old energies that can’t be fully reconciled with others at times, in this lifetime.

These knots I feel are messy masses of tangled threads, some which say “they’re responsible” and others which say, “I’m responsible.”

Both are true.

These co-created circumstances hold nuances of reality on all sides, and within as well. And all of it requires deep and sincere ownership.

The reality of truly needing to own and ask for accountability and recognition, as well as the need to forgive myself for my own imperfections.

Feeling who I am now, the ways in which I’ve grown over all these years of deep intimacy within and without, of deep awakenings to the Divine and Love, parts of me can sometimes look back on the past and ache to be this version of myself now but back then.

Which isn’t possible, of course.

What was allowed, what transpired, what moved or didn’t inside and with others I loved in service or in relationship, can’t be changed.

But I can show up to own what I’m meant to, without taking on more than my share. Even if those relationships don’t find a way to reconcile in this lifetime.

That, to me, is the heart of it all.

Forgiveness isn’t meant to have attachment to an outcome, is how I feel it. It’s an invitation to step into the light of Divine Love, to allow that love to backlight the pain of hurt received and hurt caused. For both are indeed painful.

At times, I also feel this on a more global scale. I feel how geopolitics or even modern spirituality sometimes make it incredibly hard to hold forgiveness for what’s being done to others, for the ways in which the chess pieces are moving. For the hidden agendas. For the coercion and manipulation. For the assaults, the abuse, the outright damage being done.

I can hold that passionate clarity of “this is truly awful” and find space in my heart to understand that things are moving in those spheres which I’ll never truly understand. But the Divine does. Love does. And as a result of all of it, we’re awakening. It’s got purpose, and rebirth is the constant promise.

Perhaps forgiveness, as we feel and embody it, to whatever degree we’re ready for, is the deepest antidote to all of it in the end.

I’m willing to keep feeling that and being in my own starts and stops along the way, the ways in which I can feel both the intention of forgiveness and the roadblocks to it too.

Will you join me? 🕊️

Love,

Kasha ♥️
